OSU Delt Wins 16th Hugh Shields Award

2024 Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence

STILLWATER —Delta Tau Delta at Oklahoma State University was recently recognized as a top 10 chapter nationally with the 2024 Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence. 

From Delts.org, “…the Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence…recognizes overall excellence in a chapter and is presented to the top 10 chapters [out of 130] in the Fraternity. Chapters receive a gavel and a Hugh Shields flag.” This marks the 16th time that the Oklahoma State University “Delts” have been recognized as a top chapter since the inaugural award in 1965.

The Significance of the Hugh Shields Award

Chapter leaders were also recognized for their individual excellence. 2023 Chapter President Chester Helmberger received the Outstanding Chapter President Award, and Chapter Advisor Logan Holden received the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award.

The Delts were officially presented with their flag by CEO Jack Kreman at their 75th anniversary Founder’s Day celebration on March 23rd, 2024 with over 100 Delts and guests present.
